Winners TWB Awards 2021
Two pitch contests were organised to promote entrepreneurship as part of the 4th edition of the TWB® START-UP DAY, an event dedicated to the industrial biotechnology community and beyond. This new edition, in digital and live version, focused on two major themes: Biotech & Circularity and Data & Artificial Intelligence.
Winner “Fast track it!” pitch contest
The “Fast track it! “contest, dedicated to European start-ups of 8 years old or less of activity, in the development phase, aims to select and support the start-up with the most innovative solution.
Price: Technical services on TWB platforms valued at €50,000 as well as communication opportunities with IAR (The French Bioeconomy cluster), partner of the contest.
This year, 5 start-ups have been pre-selected: BioEB (FR), Dutch DNA(NL), Lantana Bio (FR), XTREM BIOTECH (ES), ZYMVOL (ES) pitched in front of a jury of experts from the investment and innovation sector. The Spanish start-up ZYMVOL won over the jury with an inspiring speech. ZYMVOL contributes its know-how to the discovery and optimisation of biocatalysts for industry through computer-assisted innovation.
Winner “Go for it!” pitch contest
The “Go for it” contest, dedicated to entrepreneurs, evaluates the most promising industrial biotechnological idea, research or innovation.
Price: 4 days of mentoring services provided by TWB and its ecosystem, and by the contest partners: La French Tech Toulouse and ShakeUp Factory.
5 entrepreneurs came to present their start-up project. The winner of the 2021 edition of the “Go for it! “contest is the nascent Swiss start-up FluoSphera, which offers test systems to predict the effects of compounds (chemicals, drugs, etc.) on consumers and/or patients.
