EnobraQ raises funds
EnobraQ, start-up from a TWB research project, that develops CO2-based industrial fermentation processes, announces it has secured a 2.9 M€ seed financing round. Sofinnova Partners, original investor, is joined by Auriga Partners, IRDInov and CEA Investissement. Proceeds will be allocated towards EnobraQ’s research and development plan targeting an advanced proof of concept before the end of 2017.
The company EnobraQ was founded in November 2015 by Sofinnova Partners, member of TWB consortium, from a TWB research project (see News). Two of the three new investors are also partners of TWB consortium: Auriga Partners and IRDInov.
EnobraQ, hosted by TWB, aims to develop a biological process to capture CO2 (atmospheric or from industry) using yeasts for the production of chemical compounds. It is based on a breakthrough innovation which consists in designing a synthetic microorganism (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) which can use CO2.
TWB is very pleased to see the development and the attractiveness of EnobaQ. The start-up convinced new investors less than 6 months after its creation!
